Maya

Open Maya • On your desktop or in the Start Menu under Autodesk will be Maya 2018. • Open this. INTERFACE IMPORTANT PROJECT WINDOW • First thing you need to do when opening a Maya project or making a new one is to go to Project Window (or Set Project as mentioned later) • Important if you do not want your H drive getting full and software stopping on you. • Go to File – Project Window PROJECT WINDOW • In Project Window, click New beside Current Project and give it a name. • This Locations defaults to your H drive which must be changed. Sadly we get stuck with it when Maya opens.

Mud Box u I Agree! u Set language on the first open. u Set your working files to the D drive on the machine. Please do NOT leave this on your H drive default. Will cause you problems in future. u Choose directory (D: ) and double click on it. u I had to use (C:) for this  Powerpoint as my machine lacks a D drive. u Start Menu – Programs – Autodesk  Mudbox 2018 –  Mudbox 2018 u Inside the D: drive, Right Click and select New Folder. u u Name this folder with your name. u u If you already have a folder with your name on this machine you are using, you do not need to create one, just skip this step. u Double click on your new or old folder with your name to open it. u While inside this folder, click Choose. u You will be taken back to…. u ….this screen. u Press OK u Mudbox will create its folder structure in that selected folder as it opens. u The splash screen will appear as  Mudbox opens.
