Digital - week 11 - 14/05/2019
digital work process.
I ended up having a meeting with Craig's design and print, were we discusses printing and how to print the stickers. Where I didn't get the quote until after the meeting only to find out it was to expensive to do and a lot more work than I needed to do. As they were only going to cut and put the book into a ring binder, which is not what I wanted and it was going to look quite ugly and not look professionally done.
So here I was back at square one, with all my pages nearly done and no where to get my stickers printed and cut. I also decided I wanted to display the stickers on a skateboard or on objects to put them in context for the book.
After asking around if anyone new of a place to cut stickers and get stickers printed. Traci, who is my art history teacher told me about the lady who owns creativity plus and told me to send her a message which I did and I ended up going to see her on Wednesday the day of this class.
During this meeting she told me how she printed the stickers and how much it was going to coast per page.
It is $6 per A3 page which is two pages in the sticker book.
She also sent me the margin lines she uses for her printer so when I sent her the pdf of the stickers they were appropriate for her printer and her settings so she didn't have to do anything but put it into the system and print. she is a very nice lady and is very happy to help me with the project to get the result I want. I can't wait to have this project finish and start sticking these stickers on everything. The other good thing about printing with Lana/creativity plus as it's not going to take ages to print the books as she said as soon as I send her everything she can just print it once's its in the system and it will take a few minutes because I'm not doing a lot of pages. The time consuming part is the die cutting.

Sticker page up date
I am happy to say I have finished my sticker pages and just have to do some moving around of the pages and add my business name which wont take to long. I have also asked around for a skate board as I want to do a stickers in context and I think it would be great to do as a promotional item for at galleries. Or for my business.
I did move the stickers around from when I first made them because some were to close to the edge or to close to each other. I also had to think of were to put my business name, and how to do that. If I wanted to out it in-design or in Photoshop. I know that if I export these pages with the best resolution and then put them into in-design and make them high display quality and export them with highest quality I will not have to worry about pixilation or anything going fussy or looking like its bleeding. I also need to do a cover for the book, as I have decided I do not want to use the cover I was originally planning on using. I will think I will do it in red and black so it fits with the stickers inside the book, because If I kept doing what I was doing it wouldn't match the stickers on the inside.
I also feel like I have more knowledge now on how to do digital art than I did at the start of the semester. This is because I just played around in the app a lot, and didn't just trying an research to find a way to do it because there is so many ways of doing things in the app I just needed of find my own way of doing everything which what I think I have done. It took me a while to figure out a way to colour in a way I like, and was quick and easy. the easiest way I found was to draw colour were I wanted it and then blend it out and it made this water colour like affect which I really like and thought was different. There is also putting down a solid colour and then getting a darker and lighter colour of said colour and putting it on top and blending it out. There are many different ways of doing it but I do like the water colour smudged look.
