Painting abstract practice

As part of my project, I wanted to look into abstract ways of using the acrylic medium. Thought I was unsure at how to get the right consistency for the acrylic pour. So I thought I would try with mixing water with the acrylic to make the medium more pourable and liquid-like so it could be easy to manipulate.

Through one thing I was unsure was how to get the right consistency to pour or how to get the paint to sit on top of the water. Which is something I still need to do some research on to understand?

These are all the test that I have done

This one was done by pouring the acrylic and water mix before putting it into a bowl of water and moving it around and pulling it out of the water.

This one is done by pouring layers of watered down acrylic and moving the canvas around to make a marbled affect.

This was very unsuccessful but useful to know, as it was an attempt to get the paint to sit on top of the water through it just kept sinking and this was what happed with what sat on top of the water.

This one was not so successful, it was done by wetting the paper first and then dripping the acrylic paint from the top of the paper to the bottom.

This test was used by putting the acrylic onto the canvas and using a popsicle stick to move the painting around the canvas

More readings and research to help with findings:

In this article instead of using acrylic paint, they used spray paint and sprayed onto the water and move to paint around and it should arise to the top.

This technique is interesting as it used mod podge which is a glue-like medium you can use to seal and also glue things together. It is also a great medium to liquefy or mix with acrylic to give it a more transparent or liquid-like consistency.

This video was a better explanation of why my acrylic pouring was not worked.

This one was a better tutorial as it also showed a DIY on how to make your own pouring medium with Elmer's glue and water.
"The consistency should be the same as much as buttermilk"

Where to next?

From here, I can now develop the painting style more as now I understand what I need to do to make it better and improve.
From here I need to figure out on how I want to paint the body and the pose of the body that is obvious that is it referencing aphrodite.
So I will need to do some research on paintings of Aphrodite or even statues to base it off. As I am worried that when I do paint the body it won't be obvious that is it a reference to Aphrodite.
