Final painting

steps involved,

I did a test painting, that I thought was going to be my final painting. Though after debating if that was really the painting I wanted to paint I did more research on different types of 'birth of Venues' since those are an iconic painting of Venus/aphrodite.

I was going to do Botticelli's Birth of Venus since everyone knows that painting and would be easy for others to know I was referencing Venus/Aphrodite.

Though because of the test painting I did that was remaking the pose of Alexandre Cabanel birth of venus, I liked the way the body was posed and how it accentuated the female body.

I also wanted to do more than just one painting as the final project I wanted to do some abstract smaller paintings to show how I did the marble-like effect with the paintings.

Once I had done these I had started to do the final painting which was going to take a lot longer since I wanted to do two marble effects with different groups of colours. I could have easily done it all together but I wanted to get different effects and movements with the paint. So I had to do them on separate days to avoid any mixing or mistakes, though I still happed to make some. I got some of the pink into the blue and green paint, I did try to wipe it away but it just smudged and didn't come off to successful but I didn't mind as I knew I was going to pint my body over that part.

This time when I painted myself, I also added in my tattoos as they are a part of me and my identity, while also painting in my cat as in class when discussing self-portraits a portrait of yourself doesn't have to be an actual portrait of yourself it can be key things about yourself and things you like can be considered to a portrait. This is why I added in my cat as he was a huge part of my life.

Things I would do next time and different would be, doing the background in one big go together, as it will avoid any paint going astray and no unwanted areas. It will also help with manipulating the paint to work together and make the background look nice and cohesive.

I would also like to do more cat portrait studies as instead of painting cherubs like in the birth of venus I replaced them with cats to be more relatable to myself.

I also struggles for a long time to figure out a name for my project and what it was going to be called, and I finally came to mind on the name.

Rebirthed as Venus

As it is referencing the fact it is a painting based on Birth of Venus.
