Think and Create event
The event of think and create happened on the 7th of November 2019
My self and Jacqui Bree where the event MC's for the night shearing the role between the two of us, this made it a lot less stressful and easier to smoothly run the night as there was two of us to keep each other in comfort as well as oversee everything that was helping and to help each other out. I do believe it was a wise choice to have two MC for the night as it made he job a lot smoother as well as less stressful shearing the work between the two.
The night went a long plan there was only two slip up which was the file for M.U.M stopped working during its screening, and two broken glasses one during the night and another after the even. I was informed about glasses leaving the building which I was unaware of during the night and must have happened during the centre stage screening, though all of these problems were dealt with when they happened and where addressed professionally and cleaned up immediately.
Everything when as planned for the event time table though the screening did start a bit later than scheduled, though this was because people were getting a drink in the bar and it did not affect the time table as we ended up finishing the overall event earlier than expected and planned.
The event night itself, we had a lot of attendees, though sadly a lot of them by the end of the night where drunk which was not what I expected at all.
The screening of the films also went smoothly though as stated before M.U.M did stop playing through its screening.
The awards ceremony also went smoothly and nicely, as we did state before how we wanted it to go to avoid any misunderstandings or unfortunate events which did not happen.
We stated that only the winner of the final award was to come up stage to collect their award and all honourable mentions and high commended were to stay seated. which everyone did so for that, everyone was also very supportive of those who were mentioned and those who won the awards.
We also had a guest speaker and judge for our film screening Ben Jae who was very find and happy to be there, he is a New Zealand dictator.
The film award was handed out my Ben Jae and the rest of the wards were handed out by SIT facility member.
I enjoyed the even night and the turn out of the event.
Things I would have liked to have changed or been more aware of would have been alcohol, I would have liked everyone to be more educated on correct pouring the portion sizes for the different types of wines and the difference between them. I would have also liked people to be more concerned and stubborn on the amount they poured and when to stop serving someone. As it did come to my attention that people where not educated on this, and it did raise concern for myself and other students. If I could I would have liked to have taught the people on the bar the correct serving of portions each whine and the difference if people asked and so they knew what they were doing and not winging it. Apart from that, I was happy with how the event went, it was formal smooth and with only a few incidences which were cleaned up with and dealt with promptly.
On the night, we had a programme book for all those attending since this year we had the event all over the campus and not in just the Raw gallery it was over the Downtown campus so we had also made a map for those to see where everything was as well as Bex giving a small tour.
