Project update What have I done? Two A3 Paintings looking into finalized style and lightly looking into graphic design. As I didn't want to overwhelm myself and over think a simple task that has to be done. By keeping it simple and not overwhelming gave the works a cleaner and sharper look which I thought was quite nice. Though I would like to experiment with background or watering down the ink to give the works a more gradient and dimension as it is quite flat. by watering the ink down, would not only give more dimension but it would also give more contrast between the ink and paper.  I also notice that when painting on a larger scale I did have to work in section and I could not just do it in one go as this would lead to smudging or ink droplets on the page/pools of ink. Therefore when doing my final painting I would have to go section by section and allow more time for drying and be more careful and slower when applying ink.  Interestingly I found that painting the p

Photoshop and altering photos Photoshop is good for manipulating and further editing an image once it has been edited in Light room or you can fully edit an image like in Light room and then modify or further edit the image. Here you can see that when the image was place into Photoshop is came up with a photo editing part just like in lightroom were you can alter the basics of the image, such as, exposure, contrast, highlights, blackness,  and temperature. once you have edited this how ever you please, you can save image, or press done, or create image. Once you press done it insert the edited image into Photoshop were you can start to edit the photo in Photoshop with the editing you have already done. This process was quite hard to wrap my head around as there was a lot of, adding layers adjusting layers and so on. So It was quite interesting to see how it was done. though it was a lot of information all at once. so next time we do a lesson like this I would have a note book b

Starting the sticker book cover Learning how to use mask and colour For my front cover I wanted to do a demon mask inspired by two of my artist models styles. I also wanted to do it in the same colour pallet that they use, which is most commonly orange and reds. I also talked to my tattoo artist health about the masks, and he gave me great advice on how it should base the mask of a real mask to understand dimension and highlighting better and showed me the masks they had up in throne room tattoo parlor. He said they all use those masks as references when they design masks as tattoos. So when I do my sticker page on demons and mask I would reference real masks rather than looking at how they drew their masks. Mike (tutor) also recommenced this when I said I was going to do a mask for the cover of my sticker book. this was great he also showed me how to colour and use the masks properly as I didn't quite understand how they worked in the first place and how people used them for do

Viewership gaze  Viewer ship, us as human's are very three dimensional, we know how complex we are. One can not express one's self through just words as the person who they are talking to can only see them for their exterior. so they see them as their exterior not as who they are physiology, and words can not express what is going on in out heads no matter how much we try. We as people thrive on hoping we can make our exterior make people understand and not see us as our exterior. This is what the fashion industry thrive on. This is very interesting and it very relevant to what I am looking into for my person study as visual communication. relationship of offering or demanding gaze nature of relationship between subjects Gaze - Deals with how the audience views the people presented The Mirror Phase - the moment when a child recognize the face in the mirror as itself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OnhOXq7m4w Links in with the fact people can not get satisfaction a

Culture appropriation   culture appropriation is taking another cutler's significant context or spirituality, changing it and altering it to ones own  cutler and not caring about the cutler back ground of such thing. Also not saying were it is from and taking in consideration of history or laws behind the said cutler. Moana, is it culture appropriation? Tattoos, are they culture appropriation are they losing there original meaning? https://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/celebrities/87567374/temuera-morrison-and-rachel-house-on-whether-moana-is-cultural-appropriation This interview about Moana and the cutler appropriation is interesting because they do state about being aware of curtain things not being correct or interpretative wrong but they are glade they kept quite and still got our cutler out thee even if it is miss represented. I think this is interesting because I think they should have spoken up about this misrepresentation to make it more accurate and correct,

Week 8 Critique  I do think I should have been more in depth with the process of these paintings and why they were important to paint on the slides and what the purpose of them were. As there was a lot of theory work and researching behind these paintings as I thought it was important to look more into researching and developing this year as I as didn't go into it deep enough, with the research and the reasons why I did things I also wasn't as experimental with placement and presentation and how I can manipulate things. I want to look thoroughly into the design aspect this year instead of committing to an aesthetic like I was last year, I found that because I was so committed to an Aesthetic I felt as if I couldn't change my designs a lot or I didn't have a lot of freedom because I want to commit to the aesthetic, I was also quite afraid of being different and to out there. This is key to why I am doing what I am doing this year, I am interested in seeing h
