Project final update I finished the painting and brought a frame, and make sure it already had D-rings or some sort of hooks on it. I decided to go with a wood grain frame instead of a simple black frame just because I thought it would look nicer to have a lighter frame to make the black ink pop a bit better.  I did have to trim my painting down because the size of the frame is 70x50 which is roughly the same size as my painting, though it did over lap so I had to trim it down to fit into the indents of the frame.  So once that was done I could put it into the frame though I did have to sacrifice some of the legs to fit it into the frame. Which I was fine with because I'm not the biggest fan of the way I did the legs and I rather have all my head and hair in frame than my legs. Once it was in the frame I had to commit to all the mistake I had make and had to admit that this was the painting I was going to hand in, this was because I am not that happy with my painting. This

Project update   basically I hate my project, i'm not sure what I want to do with the photos any more. Will probably end up re-doing all these photos and re-editing and re-doing my mock up book. I will also be look into re-doing surrealism and trying to mind a 'symbol' that I need for it. I like doing the Micro lens work and taking photos of textures. Though I do have shaky hands sometimes so the photos can be out of focus and my camera probably has something wrong with it. I am also revisiting editing styles, as I don't like the blue over tone anymore I think it is to over powering and quite vanilla and boring. I would like to try something different and look into a more 'spooky' editing style. I so like working with the colours but they always end up over powering and don't look nice as the more saturated editing. Though over all I think all the photo editing I have done is bad and I need to relearn everything all over again. I do want to re visit

I have handed in my sticker book and I am done with my project that I have proposed to do for this class. Now I have decided that I will continue on making sticker and I will just keep adding and expanding the simple Idea that I had into a much larger idea. It will be like a base for a business that I would like to run. Though now I have to make sure I have all the basics things of a business, making a concert base before I just throw myself out there and expect thing to work and people to buy my stickers. I have created a name that I have been consistently using throughout this project and also within my own personal art projects. This name is my business name and what all the copy right for my stickers will be under. It All Goods I have social media pages that are used to show and display my works that I do that are under the same name as the name I have been used for my stickers. I Have an Instagram and a face book. Though I have requested for my display name on my Facebook t

Work Up Date What I have done since last week.  I have done my artist statement, as I wanted it to be apart of the work and have the same vibe as the work so it work side by side together. As it also would work as a voice for my work, to add to the atmospheric feel of the painting.  You're look at me, but how are you looking at me? Where are you looking at on me? This may be a painting of me, but it is still me. Yes, I am Good, is a study of self-empowerment and the composition of the body. The connection between the viewer and the painting, the way the composition of the body communicates with the viewer. What does the body say to you in comparison to the face? Do you feel as if you are viewing and judging the painting or is the painting judging you? This is called the Extra-diegetic gaze, where the person that is depicted is looking at the spectator, you. Do you feel as if you are in power or I am in power? Are you the dominant one in this situation? Or am I? The exp

Lighting Diagrams how the book is looking and what now? As of now I think the book looks alright, its very fashion magazine like and nothing to special. It's to clean and perfect looking. Which was what I was going for and it a good start, it creates a good base for the surrealism. I'm not sure how I want to make it look surrealist, I do really like the works of Bobby Becker and his dripping black, I would like to experiment with that and see the contrast of that and the white cleanness of the photos. The lay out of the book is great. It's exactly how I wanted it to look and works quote well giving it a nice structure and cohesive look through out the pages. Though because it is the same through out the book I am worried that it will come off boring and dragging on, and this is where I hope the surrealism will come in handy and make the book less practicable and boring and make it different and stand out. There is one thing that I am stumped on and that the cove

Perspective drawing what is perspective drawing? and how is it applied? Perspective drawing is drawing a background or image at a certain angle to create a more interactive and realistic scene. This can be done with character drawings as well as landscape drawings. It makes the drawings have more structure and more realistic and visually understanding image.  Perspective drawings are applied by using vanishing points. Which are a points where all lines connect. Different vanishing points are used for different affects and are applied in different ways for said affect.  This you tube channel: Circle line art school - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVQxmyIOutGT4lmWlDN9pmA Is a very helpful and informative channel that shows how to use each type of vanishing point and how it is applied.  Types of Perspectives - One-point perspective — simplest to draw - Two-point perspective — gives better impression of depth - Three-point perspective — most difficult to draw

Proposal thoughts, The time limit we had to talk about our proposal was very short, it was very hard to fit all information that you found and wanted to say into that time limit. I do feel as if I could have done more researching and findings about the female Gaze, but it is quite difficult to find things about the female gaze because of the fact there is not alot of research done about it in the first place.  I would have also liked to look into more critiques and theorist but again it was quite hard to find theorist about the female gaze and weren't all about the male gaze and had a similar view point or explored the same relevant ideas that I want to discusses and look into.  I do like my artist models and think they are great and relevant also look at more than one medium as well which its great for expanding and developing my idea and how it corresponds over all mediums.

Landscape  artist Petrus van der Velden  Petrus van der Velden, Marken funeral barge, about 1873-74, oil on canvas. Gift of the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts, 1936. "Petrus van der Velden was born at Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on 5 May 1837, the fifth child of a working-class Catholic family. His parents were Joannes van der Velden, a warehouse manager, and his wife, Jacoba van Essel. Petrus began drawing lessons at about the age of 13 at the Schilderkundig genootschap, and a year later commenced an apprenticeship in the lithographic trade. In 1858, in partnership with J. G. Zijderman, he established a lithographic printing firm in Rotterdam."  "Van der Velden brought to Christchurch the attitudes and concerns of one of Europe's most highly regarded artistic centres, and introduced the role of the professional artist. By the end of 1890 he had committed himself to the artistic life of the city. In November at the Canterbury Society of Arts' ex

Project update Os far I am basically done with my project, all I have to do it gets the books printed and then die-cut them. I have done a lot in just one week after having the meeting with Lana, who happily gave me a more cheaper and quicker way to make the sticker book. she gave me a run down of how the printing process works and how I had a few options on how to make the book and told me the best and cheapest way to do it.  What I had to do was put my sticker sheets finished with my business name and have the designs not to close to each other, into a PDF with a 3mm margin because that's what her software its set to which wasn't a hassle at all.  She also told me that the reason why it is so expensive to print a sticker book is because of the process of die-cutting, and how it is trail and error and is quite time consuming as well. So I am better off cutting the die-cut lines myself with an exacto knife. Which I am ok with because then I know the cuts are how I want t
